Ematesse Joseph (18 February 1910 – 19 September 2023) was an Haitian-born American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Ematesse Joseph claimed to have been born in Haiti on 18 February 1910. In 1997, she moved to Massachusetts, USA, but did not acquire her U.S. citizenship until 2017. In 2021, on her claimed 111th birthday, she had six children, 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Ematesse Joseph died in Everett, Massachusetts, USA on 19 September 2023 at the claimed age of 113 years, 213 days. At the time of her death, she may have been the oldest known living person in the US state of Massachusetts and the oldest known living person born in Haiti.
