Emilia Zucchetti was born in Torri del Benaco, Verona, Veneto, Italy, on 28 August 1903. She started to work as a seamstress at the age of 10.
She never married and had no children.
She lived alone in her family home until she was 107, when she moved to retirement home in Brescia. Her passion was travelling; she visited Europe from Tenerife to Munich and Lourdes. She was in Lourdes at 90 and in St. Padre Pio's shrine in San Giovanni Rotondo at 100.
Emilia Zucchetti died in Brescia, Lombardy, Italy, on 26 April 2016 aged 112 years, 242 days. At the time of her death, she was the fifth-oldest living person in Italy.
