Emma Pezza [née Rotondo] (30 March 1911 – 10 May 2021) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the second-oldest living person in the U.S. state of Rhode Island at the time of her death, behind Barbara Barton.
Biography[]
Emma Pezza was born on 30 March 1911 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Her parents were Francesco and Carmina (Masi) Rotondo. She was one of ten children - five brothers and four sisters.
She married Carmine Pezza in 1931, the couple had two children. In 1935, Emma and her husband would open up their own business called C. Pezza & Son, Inc. Pezza was a devout Catholic, she would serve as a communicant for years. In March 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday.
At the time of her 110th birthday, Pezza had 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Pezza died in Johnston, Rhode Island, USA at the age of 110 years, 41 days.
