Emmeline Frances Brice (9 March 1895 – 26 July 2006) was a British supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography[]
Brice was born on 9 March 1895 in Kensington, London, England. She worked as a cleaner in the House of Commons. In her later life, she lived in a nursing home in Linslade, near Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England.
Brice became the oldest living person in the United Kingdom following the death of 112 year-old Edith Ingamells on 1 March 2006. Brice died on 26 July 2006 at the age of 111 years, 139 days. Following her death, Annie Knight became the UK's oldest living person.
