Erika Kortum (7 January 1912 – 10 February 2022) was a German supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Erika Kortum was born in Neustadt in Holstein, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on 7 January 1912.
Her husband was injured in World War II and later died. She remembered the Cap Arcona disaster when she received refugees.
In January 2021 at the age of 109, she received the COVID-19 vaccine, making her one of oldest people to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
In January 2022, she celebrated her 110th birthday.
Kortum died in Holstein, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on 10 February 2022, at the age of 110 years, 34 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person in Schleswig-Holstein, behind Josefine Ollmann.
