Esther "Etty" Annenberg (née Garcia; 17 March 1909 – 26 March 2020) was a British supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Esther Annenberg was born in London, England on 17 March 1909. She had two brothers. At the age of two she went to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she stayed for four years – which she reportedly detested. At the age of ten, Annenberg moved to the Samuel Lewis estate in Camberwell, where she lived for almost 90 years. In her adult life, she trained as a seamstress, worked in a dry cleaners, and had two sons, David and Brian.
Annenberg died in a care home in South London on 26 March 2020 at the age of 111 years, 9 days. At time of her death, she was the oldest living Jewish person in the United Kingdom.
