Esther Victoria "Tita" Lecaro (née Torres; 23 December 1899 – 18 October 2011) was an Ecuadorian-American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2022.
Biography[]
Esther Victoria Lecaro was born in Latunga, Ecuador on 23 December 1899, the daughter of Dolores Torres.
She married Francisco Lecaro Sanchez in Latacunga, Cotopaxi, Ecuador on 22 December 1926. The couple had four children: Hilda Endara (1927–2011), Hector Lecaro, Haydee Concha, and Hugo Lecaro. Her husband died on 2 June 1947.
In 1965, she moved to the United States with her son Hector Lecaro and they lived in Los Angeles. In subsequent years, she and Hector returned to Ecuador before moving to the United States in 1979 and settling in Montebello. They moved to Chino in 2003. Her daughter Hilda Endara died on 23 September 2011.
Esther Victoria Lecaro died in Chino, California on 18 October 2011 at the age of 111 years, 299 days. She was survived by three children, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
