Ethel May Johnson (née Kauble; 28 September 1897 – 29 July 2009) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Ethel Johnson was born in Hancock County, Ohio, USA on 28 September 1897. Her parents were William and Amanda (née Grady) Kauble. She graduated from Wharton High School in 1916 and from Ohio Northern University with a degree in teaching.
Ethel Kauble married Jesse Monroe Bash in Antrim Township, Wyandot County, Ohio, USA on 25 March 1919. She was widowed in 1923. She then married Ordell Mervin Johnson on 24 December 1929. She was widowed in 1951. She never had any children.
Members of her family had also experienced longevity: her mother lived to be 101 and her brother Harry Kauble lived to be 90.
Ethel Johnson died in Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County, Ohio, USA on 29 July 2009 at the age of 111 years, 304 days.
