Ethel Richardson (16 July 1910 – 26 January 2016) was a centenarian from the Indian overseas territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Biography[]

Ethel Richardson was born in Car Nicobar on 16 July 1910. She was a prominent social worker and active worker of Mother's Union, Car Nicobar. She stood by her husband during hard times and was a source of encouragement to the Islanders. She bravely defied the traditional practices and brought Nicobar into the main stream of life, in which, she transformed the society into Modern Nicobar.

Ethel Richardson died at her residence at Mus Village, Car Nicobar on 26 January 2016 at the age of 105 years, 196 days. She was a wife of John Richardson, former bishop of Car Nicobar.[1] Ethel Richardson is currently oldest known woman ever from Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
