Eutelle Nix (née Wilson; 22 April 1912 – 5 September 2022) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.

Biography[]

Eutelle Nix was born in Nicholson, Jackson County, Georgia, USA on 22 April 1912 to William and Estelle (née Kinney) Wilson. She grew up on a farm in Jackson County, Georgia, where her family grew cotton, corn and peanuts. Her father died in 1916. She had one sister, Averrie, and two brothers, George Washington "G.W." and Woodrow, and a stepsister, Miram, from her mother's second marriage to Guy Vincent.

She married Joseph Nix on 19 March 1932 and had three children. She was widowed in 1994.

In April 2022, Nix celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Longevity runs in Nix’s family: her sister Averrie died one month before her 88th birthday, her younger brother George Washington "G.W." died ten days before his 100th birthday, and her youngest brother Woodrow died two months shy of his 97th birthday.

Eutelle Nix died on 5 September 2022 at Port Royal’s Helena Place Senior Living in Port Royal, South Carolina, USA, at the age of 110 years, 136 days. At the time of her death, she was the third-oldest known living person in the state, after Maria Aulenbacher and Pauline Bryant.
