Eva Belle Bearce (née Evans; 14 March 1881 – 12 October 1991) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

She was born as Eva Evans in Sweden, Oxford County, Maine, USA on 14 March 1881. She was the youngest of 12 children. At the age of 6, she started helping out with washing the dishes in the house. At the age of 12, she started cooking for the household when her father died.

She was married to Vivian Bearce. The couple had five children, including one who died as an infant. She became a widow in 1938. She then moved from Hebron to South Paris. She was a talented card player. On her 104th birthday in 1985, it was revealed that her eyesight had detoriated. On the occasion of her 108th birthday in 1989, she said that the secret to her longevity was being with people. She also had a positive outlook on life. Bearce enjoyed listening to music and dancing.

Eva Bearce died in Norway, Oxford, Maine, USA on 12 October 1991, at the age of 110 years, 212 days.
