Ruth Evelyn Harrington (née Porter; 6 May 1911 – 8 August 2021) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024.

Biography[]

Evelyn Harrington was born in Dyer County, Tennessee, USA on 6 May 1911 to John Nathaniel and Leila Ada (Frieburg) Porter.

She married Paul Harrington in 1927. The couple had seven children. The family moved to Kentucky in the 1950s. In 1953, they opened up the Calvert Drive-in movie theater. Her husband died in 1984. She ran operations for 60 years before retiring. The drive-in theater is now managed by her grandson John Harrington.

At the time of her 109th birthday, Harrington had eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Harrington died in Kuttawa, Kentucky, USA on 8 August 2021 at the age of 110 years. 94 days.
