Fannie Alvina Barney (née Dundom; 29 July 1873 – 4 August 1983) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Fannie Barney was born as Fannie Alvina Dundom in Wyoming, United States on 29 July 1873 as the daughter of Dutch immigrants William and Kate Vander Valk Dundom (Dutch: Willem Duijndam and Cornelia van der Valk). The family moved to Washington when Fannie was just a young girl and later to Montana, where Fannie married her husband, William Barney. The family resided in Montana before moving to Medicine Hat, Canada. After a few years the family returned to the United States and settled in Washington. After being widowed in the 1920's, Fannie moved to California.

Fannie Barney's sister, Mary Clark, lived to be 107 years old and another sister, Kate Pintler, lived to be 101 years old.

Fannie Barney died in Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado, United States on 4 August 1983, aged 110 years, 6 days.
