Fannie Forman Buten (13 April 1899 – 24 September 2010) was a Polish-American supercentenarian who was the oldest living Jewish person at her time. She was born in the town of Wielkie Oczy, Austria-Hungary (now located in Subcarpathia Voivodeship, Poland) and migrated to the United States at the age of two.[1][2]
Buten was cared by her daughter, Marjorie Steinberg. She became the world's oldest living Jewish person upon the passing of Rosa Rein of Switzerland on 14 February 2010. Buten died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, on Sept. 24, 2010 at the age of 111 years 164 days. She was survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.[3][4]
