Fanny Matilda Nystrom [Finnish: Nyström] (30 September 1878 – 31 August 1989) was a Finnish supercentenarian. She was the earliest validated female supercentenarian from Finland, as well as the former national longevity recordholder and one of the oldest people in the history of the Nordic countries.[1]

Biography[]

Fanny Matilda Nystrom was born in Naantali, Southwest Finland (then part of a Russian Empire) on 30 September 1878. Her parents were Carl Wilhelm Nystrom and Matilda Karoliina Nystrom. She never married and didn't had any children.

In September 1988, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian, as the first Finnish person to do so.

Fanny Nystrom died in Naantali, Southwest Finland, Finland on 31 August 1989 at the age of 110 years, 335 days.
