Felicitas Rau (née Binder von Krieglstein; 11 December 1907 – 8 August 2018) was an unvalidated German supercentenarian. At the time of her passing she was the 10th oldest living person in Germany.

Biography[]

Felicitas Rau was born in Hamburg, Germany on 11 December 1907 to Mrs. Wulff, a daughter of the wealthy Hamburg Businessman Caesar Freiherr Binder von Krieglstein, an Austrian Baron. She had three brothers. She worked as a singer and stage actress per name 'Ulla Binder' and performed at Dresdens Staatsschauspiel at the beginning of her career. Later she also lived in Berlin and Dusseldorf. She was married to Hermann Rau, an enginieer and lawyer who died in 1978. The couple had three sons, born in Berlin and Dresden. In 1949 the family moved to Dusseldorf. Felicitas Rau continued her work as an actress and performed at the Dusseldorfs Schauspielhaus as well as several other theatres and stages in Bonn, Dusseldorf and Cologne until her retirement in 1985.

She became the oldest living inhabitant of Dusseldorf with the passing of Lucie Neumann and took whose record finally over at age 110 years and 157 days on 16 May 2018.

Rau died in the morning of 8 August 2018 aged 110 years, 241 days after hospitalisation. She lived in her own house and is survived by her three sons, one granddaughter and two grandsons.
