Biography[]

Crump was born in Kings Norton, Worcestershire, England, UK, on 21 January 1913. Her father, Francis Impey, fell in love with Alderney on a visit in around 1930. He rented Fort Corblets from the War Department until the beginning of World War Two, then afterwards he bought it from the States and his family would summer there every year. She married James W Crump in Birmingham, England, in 1945.

In 1978, Crump retired to Alderney and quickly became caught up in island life, volunteering with the music society, the art club, the Wildlife Trust, and the Alderney Society. Felicity also wrote a book called The Alderney Cow, which is still on sale at the museum, and became a shareholder of The Journal.

Crump voted in the 2018 Alderney general election. In January 2021, she received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the second in February 2021.

In January 2023, Crump celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian, becoming the first supercentenarian in the Channel Islands since Margaret Ann Neve in 1902.

Crump died in Alderney, Guernsey, Channel Islands, UK, on 13 April 2023 at the age of 110 years, 82 days. At the time of her death, she was reported to be the oldest living resident of Alderney.
