Ferenc Bako (born 9 November 1917) is a Hungarian centenarian who is currently the oldest living man in Hungary. He is the world’s oldest active social media users.
Biography[]
Ferenc Bakó was born in Kecskemét, Bács-Kiskun County, Austria-Hungary (now Hungary) on 9 November 1917. At the age of 19, he moved to Sopron, where he served as a military musician from 1936 to 1940. During World War II, he served as a financier, first in Szombathely and later in Pápa with a parachute battalion. He was then sent to the front, where he was seriously wounded, and after recovering, he returned to Sopron and continued to play music. At some point, he got married and had five children.
On 9 November 2017, he celebrated his 100th birthday, becoming a centenarian.
On 21 March 2023, following the death of 105-year-old Ferenc Pál-Szabó, he became the oldest known living man in Hungary.
Ferenc Bakó currently lives in Fertőszentmiklós, Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Hungary at the age of 107 years, 29 days.
