Fernando Penteado Cardoso (19 September 1914 – 7 September 2021) was a Brazilian engineer agronomist.

Biography[]

Cardoso was born in Sao Paulo State, Brazil on 19 September 1914. He graduated from School of Agriculture at the University of Sao Paulo in the 1936 class. He was the founder of the fertilizer company MANAH. He was the founder and president of the Agrisus Foundation, whose objective is to finance teaching, dissemination and research projects related to soil fertility.

Always working in favor of national agriculture, he was director and president of the Federation of Rural Associations of the State of Sao Paulo, Secretary of Agriculture of the State of São Paulo, delegate of Agriculture to the Inter-American Council of Production and Commerce (Chicago), member of the Council and director of the Santa Cruz Foundation (Sao Paulo).

Cardoso died in Sao Paulo State, Brazil on 7 September 2021 at the age of 106 years, 353 days.
