Aline Blain [French: Blaïn] (née Bongard; born 10 August 1911) is a French supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Aline Blain was born as Aline Bongard in Tulette, Drome, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France on 10 August 1911. She was the second of four children. Her parents had a farm in Tulette, with an oil mill. She married Marcel Blain. They had an only daughter, Nicole (aged 76 in 2022).
Blain owned her teaching credential in Montelimar. She taught in several villages in Drome and Vaucluse departments. She gardened until the age of 90. In 2002, she moved to residence Beau Soleil. In 2013, she moved to EHPAD Beau Soleil.
At the age of 108, Blain was reported to be in good shape, and to have a good memory. She was still able to play cards without glasses.
In July 2021, Blain was asked what she thinks about turning 110, and replied: "It leaves me quite cold. I would like to have a bit less years. But regarding health, I'm not that bad."
In August 2021, Blain celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian. At the age of 110, she liked reading the magazine Paris Match, and her daughter Nicole visited her almost daily.
On 24 August 2023, the Gerontology Research Group announced that Blain had been given the pending status. Her age was fully validated on 25 September 2023.
Aline Blain currently lives in Valreas, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France at the age of 112 years, 252 days. She is currently the the oldest known living person in Vaucluse department, as well as the oldest known living person in Provence-Alpes-Cote-d'Azur.
