Katsumi Ando [Japanese: 安藤か津み] (2 February 1909 – fl.1 January 2022) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Katsumi Ando was born in Kiinagashima, Mie Prefecture, Japan on 2 February 1909. She later moved to Tsubaiso-cho. She enjoyed sweet buns and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

In September 2018, Ando was reported as the third-oldest living person in Mie Prefecture. She celebrated her 110th birthday in February 2019. In September 2020, she was reported as the oldest living person in Mie Prefecture; her predecessor, Misae Taniguchi, went to limbo.

Katsumi Ando was last confirmed alive in Kawai-cho, Kameyama, Mie Prefecture, Japan on 1 January 2022, at the age of 112 years, 333 days.[1] In September 2022, she went to limbo, as 110-year-old Toku Isaka was reported to be the oldest living person in Mie Prefecture.[2]
