Flora C Reed (21 August 1869 – 23 August 1979) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on 5 July 2018.
Biography
Flora Reed was born in Florence, Massachusetts on 21 August 1869 as the daughter of Herman D Reed and Mary Kingman. She moved to North Dakota in the early 1880s and later moved to California in 1905. In 1920, Flora lived with her 85 year old mother Mary, one year later, Mary passed away on December 19, 1921 In Long Beach, California, at the very old age of 87. In 1930, Flora lived at 138 Junipero St. In 1940, Flora lived by herself in Long Beach, California, at 912 A Linden Avenue. Reed worked as a schoolteacher in California until retiring and moving to Villa Gardens, Pasadena, California in 1956. She never married and didn't had any children.
Flora Reed died in Pasadena, California on 23 August 1979, 2 days after her 110th birthday, at the age of 110 years, 2 days.
