Florence May Himes (née Symonds; 22 September 1895 – 8 December 2005) was a British-born Canadian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Florence Himes was born as Florence May Symonds in London, England, UK on 22 September 1895. She moved to Canada in 1906 and worked at a Manitoba farm. She was married three times. Her first husband was William (Billy) Matthews Warren whom she married 8 November 1917 at Hamiota, Manitoba. Their son Dr. Russ Warren, who became a nuclear physicist, died at age 85. Her second husband was Alfred Balmforth. She married her third husband Alfred Lawrence Himes in 1952.
Florence Himes died in New Horizons Tower Retirement Home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 8 December 2005 at the age of 110 years, 77 days.
