Florence Ivy Cook (8 December 1906 – 7 December 2017) was a British supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2020. She was the oldest person in the English county of Essex at the time of her death.
Biography
Florence Ivy Cook was born in Newmarket, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom on 8 December 1906. She worked as a secretary in her early life, and married Harold Cook. They had at least one child, Derek, and moved to Toppesfield, Essex, in the 1980s. Harold died in the 1990s.
Cook lived in a care home in Sible Hedingham, Essex, England, United Kingdom, from around 2008 until her death on 7 December 2017, one day shy of her 111th birthday.
