Florilda Desrochers (née Charette; 6 April 1905 – 8 July 2015) was a Canadian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known person in Quebec, a title she shared jointly with Beatrice Naud, who died two days later.

Biography[]

Florilda Desrochers was born as Florilda Charette in Val Brillant, Quebec, Canada on 6 April 1905. She was one of at least five children born to Leon and Arthemise (née Ouellet) Charette. Her siblings were Paul, Helene, Catherine, and Armand.

Florilda married Alphonse Desrochers (1897–1977) on 19 June 1942, and had five children with him: Denise, Maurice, Jean-Paul, Benoit, and Pauline. Alphonse died on 3 September 1977, at the age of 80, after being married for 35 years. All of Florilda and Alphonse's children are now deceased, except for Denise, who outlived her mother.

Following the death of Colombe Benoit-Leclerc on 14 January 2015, she became the oldest known living person in Quebec, a title she shared jointly with Beatrice Naud.

Florilda Desrochers died in Chemin de la Canardiere, Quebec, Canada on 8 July 2015 at the age of 110 years, 93 days. She was survived by her daughter Denise, 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
