Frances Catena Pisano (née Marrone; 2 April 1910 – 18 February 2022) was an Italian-American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2020.
Biography[]
Frances Pisano was born in Casali del Manco, Calabria, Italy on 2 April 1910, the youngest of nine children of Dominick and Marie Stella Moronne. When she was three years old, her family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she worked as a seamstress.
She married Joseph Pisano in 1935. The couple had three children: Marie Hurley (c.1946–2006), Angelo Pisano (1939–2017), and John Pisano. In 1997, she moved to Marlton, New Jersey, where she lived until March 2007, when she moved to Saint Augustine, Florida to be near her oldest son. Joseph died in 1998.
She moved to Saint Augustine, Florida in March 2007. She attributed her long life to good, clean living, her late husband, family, and God.
Pisano died in Saint Augustine, Florida, United States on 18 February 2022 at the age of 111 years, 322 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person in Florida, behind Ada Avila. She also was the third-oldest known living Italian-born person, behind Delio Venturotti of Brazil, and Catherine Abate of New York, United States.
