Francile M. Reeves (née McNeill; 1 July 1901 – 24 January 2012) was a American Supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Francile Reeves was born on 1 July 1901 in Atoka, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma), USA. Her father was a reverend. She graduated from Langston College in Langston, Oklahoma in 1929. She obtained a degree in Domestic Science and became a teacher. Her goal was to teach colored children.

She was married for more than 47 years to Edwin C. Reeves, until he preceded her in death.

Reeves joined Bethel A.M.E. Church in March of 1943. She helped a lot in the church: she helped the youth in their ministries, served as President of the Parsonage Club for more than 50 years, and held a lot of offices. As such, she was recognized in 2004 for her more than fifty years of service.

In July 2004, Reeves was recognized as the oldest resident of Jackson County, Missouri by Jackson County Bureau of Statistics.

Francile Reeves died at 7:26 a.m. at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, USA on 24 January 2012, at the age of 110 years, 207 days. She was survived by her niece Vera Jean Reeves and other relatives.
