Francis Ella Cook (22 September 1913 - 30 September 2024) was an American supercentenarian who was among the oldest known people living in the U.S. state of Alabama.
Biography[]
Cook was born on 22 September 1913 in Alabama, USA. She worked at a healthcare center in Phenix City, Alabama for many years until her retirement. She was married to her husband until he died when they were both in their 60s.
In September 2014, Cook turned 100 years old.
In her centenarian years, Cook has been recognized numerous times by several local councils for her longevity.
Cook is community-oriented. She says that she is a “mother to all”. She works as a foster grandmother for the South Smiths Station Elementary School. She attributes her longevity to treating everyone right and living by the Golden Rule.
As of her 108th birthday in September 2022, Cook has 10 children, over 20 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. In fact, she has so much grandchildren that her family says that there is too many to count.
Cook currently lives in Motts (which is just outside of Smiths Station), Alabama, USA at the age of 111 years, 8 days.
