Francisco Valeriano Banegas (29 January 1912 – 18 June 2021) was a Honduran centenarian who was the oldest known living man and person in Honduras at time of his death.

Biography

Francisco Valeriano Banegas was born in San Miguel, Tegucigalpa, Francisco Morazan, Honduras on 29 January 1912. His parents were Miguel Valeriano and Jacinta Banegas. He had 13 siblings. He had at least one son: Dr. Miguel Valeriano.

In January 2012, he celebrated his 100th birthday. After the death of Eulofio Diaz on 9 July 2019, he likely became the oldest known living man in the Honduras. Following the death of 110-year-old Isabel Guell Padilla on 23 May 2021, he became the oldest known living person in Honduras.

Valeriano Banegas died in Tegucigalpa, Francisco Morazan, Honduras on 18 June 2021 at the age of 109 years, 140 days.
