Frantisek Bohacik [Slovakian: František Boháčik] (30 March 1917 – 2 October 2021) was a Slovakian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Slovakia at the time of his death.

Biography[]

Frantisek Bohacik was born in Austria-Hungary (present-day Slovakia) on 30 March 1917. When he was 2 years old, his father died of malaria, and his mother raised them together with his sister.

After primary school, he started working as an apprentice at a blacksmith. In 1940, after returning from the World War II, he was recruited to work in Germany due to lack of work.

After returning from Germany, he married Veronika in January 1942. The couple had three children (including Rozalia Baratova). His eldest son died at the age of 19.

Until he was 100, he took care of the bees brought to him by his wife Veronika. As of April 2021, he had seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bohacik died in Prasice, Topolcany District, Nitra Region, Slovakia on 2 October 2021 at the age of 104 years, 186 days.
