Biography[]

Frieda Dahlenburg was born Frieda Landtau on 13 April 1907 in Suchsdorf, Kiel, Germany as the youngest of six children. During her childhood, she lived on the family farm, which was a dairy farm, hence there was always enough to eat during World War 1.

During her high school graduation ball, Frieda met Richard Dahlenburg. The couple were married on 16 May 1928 and they had two daughters: Lilli Schoknecht (born 1931) and Freya Mau (born 1936). Richard later went to fight in World War 2. Sadly, he would not live to see the end of it, as he passed away on 31 January 1945 in the eastern front after only 16.5 years of marriage.

When Frieda was 100, she was robbed and injured by burglars, and because of the resulting health problems, she moved into a nursing home shortly thereafter. Although her health has been steadily declining since the attack, Frieda celebrated her 110th birthday with the entirety of her family. She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Frieda Dahlenburg passed away in Kiel, Germany in July 2017, at the age of 110 years, 79-109 days.
