George Alt (9 January 1886 – 12 March 1993) was an American centenarian and politician. A member of the Republican Party, he served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 1935 to 1938. He was the first known man in south dakota to reach the age of 107 his age as oldest man ever from South Dakota was eventually Surpassed by Bill Knuppe (1903-2011)
Biography[]
Alt was born in Minnesota, USA, on 9 January 1886. He was married to Esther Babcock, with whom he had three children.
In 1935, Alt was elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing Meade County, serving until 1938.
Alt died at a care center in Rapid City, South Dakota, USA, on 12 March 1993, at the age of 107 years, 62 days. He was survived by his daughter, Mabel Olsen, as well as two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
