Germaine Donnet (24 November 1907 – 28 February 2018) was a French supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known person in the department of Sarthe, Pays de la Loire, France, behind Huguette Masson.
Biography
Germaine Donnet was born in Seine-Maritime, Normandy, France on 24 November 1907. She later lived in Bois-Colombes, Hauts-de-Seine, Ile-de-France. For most of her life, she lived in Paris, where she was the manager of a Franco-Italian bank. She never married and had no children.
In March 2000, aged 92, she moved into the Ehpad nursing home, where she has been the oldest resident since 2006. Her 110th birthday in 2017 was celebrated at her nursing home with the Mayor of Loue, Dominique Croyeau, in attendance.
Germaine Donnet died in Loue, Sarthe, Pays de la Loire, France, on 28 February 2018 at the age of 110 years, 96 days. She was among the top 25 oldest people in France.
