Gertruda Gorecka [Polish: Górecka] (born 12 November 1911) is a Polish-Canadian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group.

Biography

Gertruda Gorecka was born on 12 November 1911 in Keblowo, Province of Posen, German Empire, which is now part of Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. In 2004, she moved from Szczecin to Windsor, Canada at the invitation of her only daughter Halina Rozalska.

Her passion in life was sewing beautiful costumes for the theater. She is always happy and never complained about other people or about hard times like during communism. She is taken care of by her daughter and grandson Bartlomiej.

At the time of her 105th birthday in 2016, she was still cheerful and had been playing harmonica for years, for example in 2013 during her 102nd birthday celebrations when she made her guests happy by playing beautiful patriotic melodies.

Gorecka currently lives in Windsor, Ontario, Canada at the age of 110 years, 73 days. She currently is the third-oldest known living person in Ontario, behind Janet Luscombe and Dora Skeen.
