Gertrude Gerdes Stunkel (née Reents; 28 January 1868 – 20 June 1979) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Gertrude was born as Gertjen Gerdes Reents in Secor, Illinois, USA on 28 January 1868. Her parents were the German immigrants Epke and Antje Dirks Reents.
She married Maurice Stunkel in Benson, Illinois, USA on 26 January 1890. The couple had six children, five of whom she outlived. She was widowed in 1933.
Stunkel died in Rockford, Illinois, USA on 20 June 1979 at the age of 111 years, 143 days.
