Gertrudis Guerrero Garcia [Spanish: García] (27 April 1911 – 31 March 2023) was a Mexican supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Gertrudis Guerrero Garcia was born in Chiautla de Tapia, Puebla, Mexico, on 27 April 1911. Her parents were both teachers. She had one daughter, who died at 3 days old.
She worked as a teacher since 1926, at the age of 15, for education of Elementary School. She was forced to retire at the age of 100 (she didn't want to retire yet). The last years of her service as a teacher were given in the Leona Vicario Elementary School.
In April 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday. At the age of 111, she was a bit deaf.
Guerrero Garcia died in Chiautla de Tapia, Puebla, Mexico, on 31 March 2023, at the age of 111 years, 338 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Puebla.
