Gisele Chalifour (20 June 1907 – 13 September 2018) was a Canadian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was one of the oldest known living people in Quebec, Canada.
Biography
Gisele Chalifour was born in Canada on 20 June 1907 as the 13th of 14 children. She married and had a daughter, Nicole. Around the time of her 100th birthday in 2007, she fell and fractured her hip.
On her 110th birthday in 2017, Gisele was visited by singer Michel Louvain. She had developed a passion for him in the years prior, as he visited her nursing home annually. She talked a lot at the celebration, especially with her friend Eugenie, a volunteer at the nursing home who had known Gisele for 30 years. Gisele had a younger sister, who died in 2016 at the age of 108.
Chalifour died in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 13 September 2018 at the age of 111 years, 85 days.
