Goldie Miller (née Kirson; 25 April 1904 (claims 1903) – 16 October 2014) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known person in the US state of Tennessee at the time of her death.

Biography[]

Goldie Miller was born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on 25 April 1904 (claims 1903) and raised near Mondawmin. Her parents were Russian immigrants Sam Kirson, a property manager, and Anna Kirson, a homemaker. She had six siblings.

She went to high school in Baltimore and graduated. She tried to get her records for years, but the school had burned down. After graduating from high school, she worked at the old Hutzler's department store on the wrapping desk before her marriage.

She married Dr. Benjamin Miller, a physician she met on a blind date, in 1924. She worked as his nurse-secretary from 1925 to 1955. She had two children: Natalie Wilder (born c.1930) and Dr. Gerald A. Miller (born c.1937). She was widowed in 1958.

For years, she volunteered in the gift shop at Sinai Hospital. She drove until she was 87. She continued to be vibrant and engaged, even though she had been bedridden since fracturing a hip when she was 110.

Goldie Miller died of heart failure in Pikesville, Maryland, USA on 16 October 2014 at the age of 110 years, 174 days. She is survived by two children, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
