Goldie Small (née Marshall; 1 April 1908 – 20 March 2019) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Goldie Small was born as Goldie Marshall in Paris, New York, USA, on 1 April 1908. She lived there until 1940 when she moved to New Milford, Pennsylvania. As a child, she went to one-room school house until she attended high school in Waterville, New York. After high school, she went to Rochester, New York, to study to become a dental hygienist. Shortly after the Great Depression began, she came back to school to become a secretary.
After getting married and moving to Pennsylvania, Small had two children, Glen and Marion. She had six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She lived on her own until she was 102, and later lived in a retirement community in Endwell, New York, where she became a supercentenarian in April 2018. A month later, she received a congratulatory letter from President Donald Trump.
Goldie Small died in Endwell, New York, USA, on 20 March 2019 at the age of 110 years, 353 days.
