Hana Sato [Japanese: 佐藤ハナ] (1 May 1911 – fl.1 May 2023) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Hana Sato was born in Japan on 1 May 1911. In May 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
At the time of her 112th birthday in 2023, Sato had at least one brother, who was aged 96 at the time.
Sato was last reported to be alive in Akita City, Akita Prefecture, Japan on 1 May 2023, her 112th birthday.
Sato's age was verified by Japan's MHLW, Yumi Yamamoto, and Yu Li, and validated by the GRG on 10 May 2023, nine days after her 112th birthday.
