Hasim Efendic [Bosnian: Efendić] (16 February 1906 – fl.October 2013) was a Bosnian-born Swedish centenarian who was the oldest known living man born in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as one of the oldest known living men in Sweden at the time of his death. He was the father of Bosnian-Swedish doctor Suad Efendic.
Biography[]
Hasim Efendic was born in Trebinje, Austria-Hungary (now Bosnia-Herzegovina) on 16 February 1906. Later, he emigrated to Sweden where he stayed for the rest of his life.
His son was Suad Efendic (8 April 1937 – 21 November 2022) who was a doctor, and a professor at Karolinska Institutet.
Hasim Efendic died between October 2013 and April 2014 in his apartment in Herserud (in Lidingo Island), Stockholm County, Sweden at the claimed age of 107 years, 210+ days. His full date of death is currently unknown, and he was last confirmed alive in October 2013.
