Hedwig Wickert (17 July 1909 – 2020) was a German supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Hedwig Wickert was born in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany on 17 July 1909. She worked as accountant at St. Mary's Hospital (St. Marienhospital) in Cologne, Germany. She never married, had no children, and lived with her now-deceased sister who took care of the household while Wickert earned the money.
In 2009, at the age of 100, Wickert moved to a nursing home in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. She celebrated her 110th birthday in July 2019. At that time, she did not talk much but was still able to read without glasses.
Wickert died in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany in 2020 at the age of 111 years.
