Henrietta Bruce (neé Goddard; 18 July 1891 – 21 July 2001) was a Barbadian-American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Henrietta Bruce was born in Barbados (then British West Indies) on 18 July 1891. She was one of ten children. In 1921, she married William B. Bruce. They had one son, William Bruce, who died in his 80s.
Henrietta Bruce died at Bay Tower Nursing Center in Providence, Rhode Island, USA on 21 July 2001 at the age of 110 years, 3 days. At the time of death, she was the oldest known living Barbadian-born person.
Bruce's age was verified by Anson Davis, Ilias Leivaditis, and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, and (posthumously) validated by the GRG on 27 June 2016.
