Herbert Heimie Hamrol (10 January 1903 – 5 February 2009) was an American centenarian.
Biography
Herbert Hamrol was born in San Francisco, California, USA. At the time of the Great Earthquake of 1906, his mother carried him to safety.
After graduating from the sixth grade, he took a job delivering meat for a butcher. He also worked as a phone company clerk and a food wholesaler before settling in as a clerk at Andronico's market on Irving Street in 1967. His wife of 40 years, Cecelia (née McIntyre) Hamrol, died in 1969 at the age of 66. He smoked cigars until his 90s.
Hamrol died in San Francisco, California, USA on 5 February 2009 at the age of 106 years, 26 days. He was survived by two sons, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
