Herminia de Leon Esparza de Renteria [Spanish: León] (10 March 1908 – 16 March 2018) was a Mexican supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Herminia de Leon Esparza was born in Villaldama, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, on 10 March 1908. Her parents were Cecilio de Leon and Zeferina Esparza. She had 13 siblings: Cesaria, Maria, Cesarea, Luis, Sabas, Consuelo, Olivia, Maria, Santos, Felicitas, Petrita, Celia and Leonila. She married a man with the surname Renteria and had seven children with him.
In March 2011, she was visited by the President of the Municipality of Sabinas Hidalgo, Raul Mireles Garza, and his wife, Imelda Flores de Mireles to congratulate her for her 103rd birthday. She celebrated her 110th birthday in March 2018. At that time, she had 36 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren, 83 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
Herminia de Leon Esparza died in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, on 16 March 2018 at the age of 110 years, 6 days.
