Hildegard Vedder (born 17 March 1914 - 13 April 2024) was a German supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Hildegard Vedder was born in Heiligenstadt, Thuringa, Germany on 17 March 1914. She was the oldest of four children. Her father left her family when she was still a child.
She was still very healthy and active at the time of her 105th birthday and would still read the newspaper without any glasses every day. She moved to a nursing home in Febuary 2024. At the time she was bound to a wheelchair but still a very happy person despite having problems with her senses and her memory.
In March 2024 she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
She was first mentioned on her 105th birthday, but not again until her 110th birthday in 2024.
Hildegard Vedder died in Beckum, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany,in 13 April 2024 at the age of 110 years, 27 days.
