Hildegard Wustenberg [German: Hildegard Wüstenberg] (18 May 1911 – 25 November 2021) was a German supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Hildegard Wustenberg was born in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany on 18 May 1911 to pastor Ludwig Bötte and Berta Bötte. She was born and raised in Hanover and went to school there before studying at the University of Physical Education in Berlin-Spandau.

After the death of her father, then 18-year-old Hildegard and her mother went to Marburg to live in the Ziegelstrasse, where she would meet judge Kurt Wustenberg. They married in 1935 in the Marburg University Church. They had four children. Kurt died in 1997. In 2004, Hildegard moved to nursing home 'Ars vivendi'.

Hildegard Wustenberg died in Marburg, Hesse, Germany on 25 November 2021 at the age of 110 years, 191 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Hesse.
