Huang Sheng Yong (Chinese: 黄胜庸; 8 February 1905? – 20 December 2017) was a Chinese supercentenarian claimant whose claim is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Early life and war[]
Huang claimed to have been born in Heyuan, Guangdong on 8 February 1905 (possibly January 1905).
In 1927, Huang followed his uncle, Huang Hanting and he joined the 19th Route Army.
Later, he joined the army again and participated in the January 28 Incident (Shanghai Incident), the Japanese confrontation with Republic of China for 33 days. Huang and his comrades were ordered to transfer to a reinforcement of the Shanghai front, in the Shanghai suburbs to build fortifications. His group had 105 comrades heroic sacrifices. After the dissolution of the troops, Huang returned to Heping County and his home business, farming. His son said that during the war, Huang saw many people dying just a few meters away of him. His son also said that it's a reason why Huang hoped that there will be no wars anymore.
After joining the Dongjiang column, he became the Dongjiang column secret traffic officer.
Family and later life[]
In 1928, he went back to his hometown and got married. He had seven children (four sons and three daughters). His wife died in 1992. On his claimed 110th birthday in 2015, he had only one living son, Huang Yitong (his oldest son and two other sons died before him).
Huang died in Heyuan City, Heping County, China, on 20 December 2017 at 12:18 PM, at the claimed age of 112 years, 315 days. After his death, 105-years-old Hao Quande (Chinese: 郝全德; born in March 1913) became the last living person from the 19th Route Army.
