Ida Angella Kirkwood Williams (née Shelvin; 10 June 1891 (claimed 10 June 1889) – 25 March 2005) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024.
Biography[]
Ida Williams was born in Abbeville, Louisiana, USA. She generally was known as "Ida". She claimed to have been born in 1889, but research suggests she was two years younger.
Several members of her family, including one of her sons, lived to be in their 90s. Williams married twice.
She died in Westlake, Louisiana, USA, on 25 March 2005, allegedly aged 113 years, 288 days.
