Ida Simon (née LaCour; 4 April 1891 – 27 June 2003) was an American supercentenarian who was one of the oldest known people in Louisiana when she died. Her age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Ida Simon was born Marie Ida LaCour in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on 4 April 1891. Her parents were Jean-Baptiste (John) LaCour and Prudence Gallien. Her father John later married again to Alice Bellow. She had eight siblings: Aloysius, Mabel, Abraham, Mary, Adeline, Agnes, Cecilia, and Beatrice.
Between 1910 and 1920, she married Charles "Charlie" Simon and had five children: Charlie Jr., Herbert, John, Doris, and Joseph.
Simon died on 27 June 2003 at the age of 112 years, 84 days. She had lived in Natchitoches, Louisiana for her entire life.
